Shanghai Jindong is a professional manufacturer specializing in high-precision cnc five-axis machining centers for external processing. Many users and customers will feel that five-axis cnc machining centers are a very amazing precision equipment, and they will learn about it through some news. Huge energy. In the military field, five-axis machining centers have played a key role (propellers, aero-engines and other equipment manufacturing). Today, Hongweisheng Precision Technology has taken stock of some advantages and disadvantages of five-axis machining centers for everyone to share. Let everyone understand it more clearly. The so-called five-axis machining here means that there are at least five coordinate axes (three linear coordinates and two rotation coordinates) on one machine tool, and the movement can be processed simultaneously under the control of a computer numerical control (CNC) system.

a. Rotate around X axis to A axis

b. Rotate around the Y axis to the B axis

c. Rotate around Z axis to C axis

Introduction of common five-axis machining centers: vertical five-axis machining centers, horizontal five-axis machining centers

Vertical five-axis machining center. There are two ways for the rotary axis of this type of machining center. One is the rotary axis of the table. The table set on the bed can be rotated around the X axis, which is defined as the A axis. The A axis generally has a working range of +30 degrees to -120 degrees. There is also a turntable in the middle of the table. It rotates around the Z axis at the position shown in the figure. It is defined as the C axis, and the C axis is 360 degrees. In this way, through the combination of A axis and C axis, except for the bottom surface of the workpiece fixed on the table, the remaining five surfaces can be processed by the vertical spindle. The A-axis and C-axis * small indexing values are generally 0.001 degrees. In this way, the workpiece can be subdivided into arbitrary angles, and inclined surfaces and inclined holes can be processed.

Disadvantages: The worktable cannot be designed too large, and the load bearing is also small. Especially when the A-axis rotation is greater than or equal to 90 degrees, the workpiece will bring a large load moment when the workpiece is cut.

Advantages: The structure of the spindle is relatively simple, the rigidity of the spindle is very good, and the manufacturing cost is relatively low.

The other is to rely on the rotation of the vertical spindle head. The front end of the main shaft is a swivel head, which can surround the Z axis 360 degrees by itself and become the C axis. The swivel head also has an A axis that can rotate around the X axis. Generally, it can reach more than ± 90 degrees to achieve the same function.

Disadvantages: The worktable can also be designed very large, the body is huge, the rotation structure of the main shaft is more complicated, and the manufacturing cost is also higher.

Advantages: The spindle machining is very flexible. The design of the spindle rotation ensures a certain line speed and can improve the surface machining quality. This kind of structure is very popular with the high-precision curved surface processing of the mold, which is difficult to achieve by the rotary table machining center.

Horizontal five-axis machining center. There are two ways for the rotary axis of this type of machining center. One is the horizontal spindle swinging as a rotary axis, plus a rotary axis of the table. Indexing to achieve pentahedron processing on the workpiece,

Disadvantages: The spindle has poor rigidity, but does not perform linkage, and is suitable for different processing requirements of a four-axis machining center with vertical and horizontal conversion.

Advantages: simple and flexible processing, simple vertical or horizontal rotation of the spindle, low manufacturing cost, very practical.

The other is the traditional rotary axis of the table. The A-axis of the table set on the bed generally has a working range of +20 degrees to -100 degrees. There is also a rotary table B axis in the middle of the table, and the B axis can rotate 360 degrees in both directions.

Disadvantages: The worktable is limited, the structure of the rotary shaft is more complicated, and the price is also expensive.

Advantages: The rotary shaft can also be equipped with a circular encoder feedback, and the indexing accuracy reaches a few seconds. It is often used to process complex curved surfaces of large impellers.

With the above knowledge, do you have a deeper understanding of the five-axis cnc machining center?
